Mandy Clendenen Takes the Reins as the New Chief Executive Officer of the Sonoma-Marin Fair

PETALUMA, CA (April 12, 2024) – The Sonoma-Marin Fair is thrilled to announce the appointment of Mandy Clendenen as its new Chief Executive Officer. With an impressive career spanning almost two decades in the fair industry, she brings a wealth of experience and a genuine passion for community engagement to her new role.

The Sonoma-Marin Fair Board is confident that Mandy’s leadership will bring innovation, energy, and a fresh perspective to the fair, ensuring its continued success. Her passion for the fair industry, extensive experience, and community engagement make her an exceptional choice for the CEO role.

Mandy attended California State University, Chico, as an ag student. She began her journey in the fair industry with a summer internship at the California State Fair, setting the stage for a remarkable career.

Over the years, Mandy spent many summers working for various fairs across California, making significant contributions to the Mendocino County Fair, Sonoma County Fair, and Napa County Fair. Her dedication to the industry is evident through the diverse roles she has undertaken, such as Livestock Supervisor, Exhibits Manager, Business Assistant, and Operations Manager. Mandy has cultivated a deep understanding of the intricate workings of fairs and a keen eye for enhancing the overall fair experience.

With over a year of service at the Sonoma-Marin Fair as Operations Manager, Mandy has already contributed to its success and continues demonstrating her commitment to its mission. Her tenure with the 4th District Agricultural Association (4th DAA) has allowed her to immerse herself in the fair’s operations and build strong relationships within the community.

Mandy grew up in Northern California and has been a Petaluma resident for several years and a Sonoma County resident for the past two decades. When not leading the Sonoma-Marin Fair, Mandy dedicates her time to volunteering at a local riding club. Additionally, she enjoys traveling around the state to attend livestock shows with her son.

“Fairs have always been a part of my life,” said Mandy. “Growing up, I spent my summers traveling to fairs showing livestock, and I continued that summer tradition by working at fairs throughout my college days. I am thrilled to be a part of the Sonoma-Marin Fair, giving back to a way of life that shaped who I am today. I am excited for this next chapter and the future of this organization that cares so deeply about the roots from which it comes and people who care so deeply about it.”
